Central Asia is the region encompassing  the post-Soviet states of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. We’ve included (the definitely not post-Soviet!) Afghanistan in this section too.

Known for its high mountains, wide-open steppe, nomadic cultures and glittering Silk Road cities, Central Asia is an ascending star on the global tourism scene, a little-visited part of the world that’s fantastically rich in culture, history and scenery. If you want a serious dose of adventure or are looking for a transformative travel experience, then this is the place for you.

Each of these countries offer a welter of different experiences – click on the separate tabs to find out more.
